Configuring Contact Settings
To configure Contact settings:
1. Click the Contact tab. The Contact Settings page displays (see Figure 12).

2. By default, e-mail and web form notifications about subscriptions to the list are sent to the e-mail address associated with the campaign (campaignname@getresponse.com). To forward subscription e-mail notifications to your e-mail in box, configure the Email Notifications options:
- Email subscriptions – forward e-mail notifications of subscriptions and e-mails with questions from subscribers
- Web subscriptions – forward web subscription notifications
- E-mail Address – e-mail address where messages should be sent.
3. By default, e-mails from subscribers with questions or comments are sent to the e-mail address associated with the campaign (campaignname@getresponse.com). To forward e-mails from subscribers to your e-mail in box, configure the Forward Emails Sent options:
- E-mail Address – e-mail address where messages should be sent.
- Forward emails – forward messages sent to the default e-mail address for the campaign.
- Do not forward emails – do not forward messages sent to the default a-mail address for the campaign.
4. Configure the opt-in settings (see Figure 13). Enter a custom web page URL into the Confirmation page URL field to trigger display of a web page in the subscriber’s web browser.

5. Select confirmed opt-in options to ensure that subscribers confirm their request to opt-in to your campaign:
- Email subscriptions – send a confirmation to subscribers who opt-in via e-mail
- Web subscriptions – send a confirmation to subscribers who opt-in using a web form
- Import subscriptions – send a confirmation to subscribers who are imported from another campaign
- Panel subscriptions – send a confirmation to subscribers who are part of an opt-in panel for survey purposes
6. Configure the use of audio confirmations:
- Use audio message on my confirmation page – add an audio file to the GetResponse confirmation web page
- Use audio message on my opt-in page – add an audio file to the GetResponse opt-in page
- Enter a default name to use in any messages or newsletters that do not include personalized name settings using the subscriber list.
- Click Show send confirmation email page (?)
7. Select the Forward contact data options (see Figure 14) to configure use of new subscriber information on the confirmation web page:
- Do not forward – do not use new subscriber data on the confirmation page
- Forward via HTTP POST – use the HTTP POST command to send data to the confirmation page
- Forward via HTTP GET – use the HTTP GET command to send data to the confirmation page.
Note: Forward via HTTP POST and Forward via HTTP GET are recommended only for advanced GetResponse users.

8. Select the Advanced forwarding options to configure use of new subscriber information on the confirmation web page:
- Forward contact data + custom form data – forward the default contact data and all data from custom fields added to the web form
- Forward contact data only – forward only the default data from the web form
9. Click Use CAPTCHA (Human Verification) to use the CAPTCHA algorithm to create an opt-in test that the subscriber must pass to be added to the list.
10. Configure Multiple Unsubscribe options:
- Yes – remove subscribers from all campaigns
- No – remove subscribers from only the current campaign
Note: Canadian and United States anti-spam laws require that subscribers be removed from all campaign lists using only one request. Therefore, Yes is the default Multiple Unsubscribe option. GetResponse does not recommend changing this option to No.
11. Configure the Customize ‘Confirm Page’ options:
- Enter the URL for the file that contains your company’s logo in the Logo URL field to include it on the confirmation page.
- Enter the URL for your company’s website in the Website URL field to include it on the confirmation page.
- Enter descriptive text in the Description field.
Note: Changing these options causes the settings to change for all GetResponse pages visited by subscribers.
12. Click Disable 3rd-party co-registration?
13. Configure the Customize ‘Removal Page’ options (see Figure 15):
- Enter the URL for the file that contains your company’s logo in the Logo URL field to include it on the removal page.
- Enter the URL for your company’s website in the Website URL field to include it on the removal page.
- Enter descriptive text in the Description field.
Note: Changing these options causes the settings to change for all GetResponse pages visited by subscribers.

14. Click Disable 3rd-party co-registration to limit the subscription only to your campaign, and not to any other sponsored or unsponsored subscription list.
15. Enter the URL for a custom web page that confirms removal from the campaign in the Customized removal page URL field.
16. Enter a URL for a “stay on the list” page in the ‘Stay on the list’ page URL field.
17. Configure the Next Message Page options:
- Enter the URL for the file that contains your company’s logo in the Logo URL field to include it on the next message page.
- Enter the URL for your company’s website in the Website URL field to include it on the next message page.
- Enter descriptive text in the Description field.
Note: Changing these options causes the settings to change for all GetResponse pages visited by subscribers.
18. Click Disable 3rd-party co-registration to limit the subscription only to your campaign, and not to any other sponsored or unsponsored subscription list.
19. Click Disable warning message about duplicate subscription (see Figure 16) to prevent the subscriber from seeing error messages pertaining to possible duplicate subscriptions.
20. Click Disable GetResponse built-in error page to prevent display of the GetResponse error page if the subscription fails.

21. Enter a subdomain to include in the GetResponse e-mail address in the New sub-domain field.
22. Enter the URL for the next message page in the Next message URL field.
23. Click Save Settings to save the campaign configuration up to this point.
